I was thinking of hand sewing the leather for the pod. I currently have the plastic dash and pod caps, while they do look clean, I would like to go back to a nice leather one. Let me know how it works out.

P.S. are there ever any 928 get togethers here in Texas?

To the best of my recollection, the last 928 get together was Bastrap last year.

What we need is to organize our own 928 Texas club. My local PCA is almost exclusively race oriented and I'm usually the only 928 in attendance. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

I think we have enough 928 in the Lone Star to make it interesting. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" /> God knows we have enough road to make it interesting. <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" />

Thumbs up

Organizing our own club sounds good to me. I know there are about 6 of us in austin. I am always seeing 928s for sale in Houston, there must be some folks there.

I bought my 928 and I don't have anyone to play with. <img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" />

I think we should post the question in a dedicated topic and see who else in Texas is interested <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

Sorry it is the Mocha brown color. I am thinking of changing the whole interior to black.

Try,
Portia's Parts and Restoration at:
<a href="http://kondratyev.com" target="_blank">http://kondratyev.com</a> update: use the 2nd site!
or:
<a href="http://kondratyev.com/porsche/" target="_blank">http://kondratyev.com/porsche/</a>
The price WAS around $125.00- $150.00 and was supposed to be factory texured in appearance.
Check em out. The price is competitive with the DIY kits and the work is warranted. They used to do core swaps with one week shipping depending on payment method.
Personally, I was thinking of repairing using a severe cleanup to include 'crack hump removal' then do a border tape, medium hot vinyl mix and
thin application, finally, vacuum 'bag'the area for surface level. But, Portia's seems like the better deal. Don't forget to swap all of the pod bulbs and fix that damned odometer/speedo while things are apart.
OT
Randy,
Have you checked out this 86' convertible?

Cool

Thanks for the link to that site, but I've already tried to contact that guy many times with no response. I concluded I would simply learn to do it myself. <img border="0" alt="[byebye]" title="" src="graemlins/wave.gif" />

Some of these cracks are awfully close to the windshield. I'm not sure what the layered glass will do, if it gets hot from the heat gun. Maybe somebody here knows... In any case, be careful! You don't want to create yourself a new problem.
