SITM preperations thread
I have missd the last three SITM and this will be the first one I attend. It will also be the longest trip (by far) that I have ever taken with my 928. What should I bring along? I am looking to draw upon the veterans experience.

Two years ago someone posted their list, which included a Walmart tire plug kit. I picked one up just in case & ended up using it before we left Dave & Jeannie's that Sunday to drive back home!

Yes, I am going up 75 and may be leaving on Wed. so I can drive the dragon on Thursday. Anyone coming? I know Mel is going but I'm not sure of his route.

Doesn't matter. Whatever you bring you won't need. It's always that one tool/item you left behind...
To quote 944Fests Dan; "I haven't found a break down that a credit card couldn't fix". That is unless it is a CIS system that the best minds in the business couldn't figure out.

A word from the experienced...
You may want to hang on to my Kemf tool and two 17mm stub wrenches until then. Some of us actually brought well-stocked tool kits...and USED them! Imagine this: all 100+ Sharks lined up and ready to hit the Blueridge Parkway with one poor fellow's timing belt flapping like a loose string on a cheap guitar. There we were, three stragglers (we know who we are) still hanging out in center field wrenching away with our friend in need. Oh, and Sunday morning behind the hotel? Same thing, but on our own cars because we had new belts, over a thousand miles clocked and a fresh, red warning light to greet us when we hit our pedals hard. Time for a re-tension.
Moral of the story: a small duffle should do, stock it well and enjoy your trip to and from with no worries, mate.

Long story, but no, I don't. Fabio's a good man - my fault. Too much to do, so little time. But maybe if I grew my hair past my shoulders, the true meaning of life might come to me, too!
