Ah that explains it Brian! I was puzzled why you thought the test procedure would show a warning light when it was clear you were saying the normal state of sensor is continuity.

Hi Guys,... I checked out all the brake pad sensors at the wheels, the 2 rear sensors were bridged out, now I come to think , about 7 years ago this was done for the same reason intermittant BRAKE-PAD light coming on.
The 2 front sensors are both connected, so I bridged them both out, and hey-presto the BRAKE-PAD warning light went off after starting the engine.

I took the bridge wires off again, and the BRAKE-PAD warning went off as soon as I fired the engine,......I went round to the rear and took the bridge wires off and connected them up as normal,.... and now it,s all working as it should!!,.......weird or what,.. guess it was all down to a bad connection,......What do you think?

Best wishes everyone
Ken

Where do I find the "how to" on bridging the brake warning lights? Then maybe I could find which of my harnesses are faulty. BRakes are good, sensors are good, but I can tell the harnesses are aged and cracked, I already repaired on of the ABS wires. 88 928 S4 AT
