Thanks for the heads-up on the REAL tight hinges !

I have an 89 Euro with a folding wing. Wasn't sure about it at first as it needs to be properly adjusted so it doesn't pop up on any bumps, but it does make cleaning the area under the back much easier. The catches do tend to wear out so check them first.
Was thinking of swapping it for a fixed wing but now that I see it's a bit of a rare item I think I'll hold onto it. Was thinking of painting it to match the body?

Hey everyone,
I did an "impulse bid" last night on e-bay, on a folding rear wing. The E-bay item number is:
150604035851
I am letting everyone know, so that we don't bid against each other!
I just need the wing temporarily, and then plan to sell it. If anyone is interested in it after I am done, just let me know.
I realize I should have Checked Rennlist first, to see if anyone had one. Like I said, it was an impulse bid , and now I need to see it through
Thanks,

I have one I would be willing to sell as well. Never listed it formally. Just when a thread comes up I mention it. I would call it "very good" condition, but not "excellent" or "concours". I would entertain offers at the very least if anyone is interested.

...And so, I won the bid
If anyone thought about bidding, but withheld - Thank You! No one bid against me.
If you are interested in the wing after I am done with it, let me know - I will offer it for the same price I paid for it: $300 plus shipping. I will take pictures and post on this thread when I receive it. I only want it for some mockups and measurements.
Good to know that you have one also, James. I believe a few other folks do as well, but might be hanging on to them a little tighter than we are.
Thanks, again.

Received the wing (quickly) - it is in great shape, as indicated by the seller. Only some very minor "wear" in the leading part of the sides, if looked at closely.
Below are the pictures, including a couple of mockups. The holes don't match up to the holes on the rear hatch, because, as Brian had indicated, he had an aftermarket wing on there. The aftermarket wing is the hollow type, and is lighter, but not by a whole lot. However, considering it's location (high and beyond the axles), I consider it a significant weight difference. If I don't drill new holes for the hinged wing, I will paint the aftermarket wing to look like a rubberized wing
I really like the wingless look, but the black wing seems to go very well with the silver car as well.

Well, let me know how it goes. I am willing to sell my folding wing... It is not perfect but it is very good... Probably could be Carbon Fiber vinyl wrapped and REALLY LOOK GOOD, but if you didn't like the wrap I suspect getting it off would ruin the underlying surface of the wing. Like said it is totally presentable, but not concours condition. Been wanting to sell it for a long time, but I am unwilling to give it away... ie. $200 plus shipping is NOT going to buy my wing! Think 2X that and you are in the hunt!

My picture of the mockup is of the wing in the "down" ("locked") position.
Below is a picture I found on the web of one in the up position.
My hatch does not have stock holes, so I cannot fully mount this stock wing, by using all the nuts, to show it in the up position (dancing gingerly around the wording here...).
