I took out an envelope I got from the PO when I bought the car looking for old receipts tonight, and found this mystery bag:

What this heck are these? The bag is still sealed and I don't want to open it.

My second car has these too...it's a cool find, something original, and I suspect few of these glove sets made it this far! I've never seen them on ebay or elsewhere.

THANKS! I have these in the 85 and had no idea. Were an extra set of belts also std stuff? and does any one know if the original air pump was a CA product?

Both of mine came with extra belts; neither had the pump (long gone) or a first aid kit. Both had full sets of tools in the tray in back tho...

I kinda liked finding the original gloves and the kit-o-belts in the spare wheel cavity when I bought the car. Now I have a set of 20-year-old belts riding around with me. I guess in a pinch they would certainly get me home, assuming I could get them installed. Should we be thinking about replacing spare belts that have aged out? Maybe the 20 YO spare tire is due too? Belts would be a lot cheaper!
Note-- the spare belts in my car came with a nice metal tag attached, and a tie that holds them all together. It probably says "spare belts". Anybody else?

Correct--
In the interest of keeping all that original Porsche stuff pristine for the next collector/owner, it has been removed to safe climate-controlled storage. In the car now there are a few big heavy-duty trash bags, good for work mat and poncho duty in addition to the wheel-cover duty. I keep some more-current nitrile and leather work gloves, some old towels, and an aftermarket tire inflator/compressor (replaces two compressors that came with the car). The belts still ride along.
The only factory first-aid kits I've seen have been in Euro or Euro-delivery cars. Anybody have a US car with a first-aid kit? I'd love to see a picture.

Got the gloves and bag from the spare tire well.
Toolkit long stripped bare.
Did find the funny metal double L-shaped tool in the glove box.
Took a long while before I figured out it was the emergency sunroof closing tool.
Factory airpump (with that rare light option) is out of car replaced by much smaller aftermarket air pump.
Does the first aid kit ride in the rear storage compartment?
Or does it reside in the AC'ed glove box.
I've got Nuprin that expired back in '94.

I still have the kit in mine. It has the gloves, plastic sheet and belts that still have the aluminum tags on them. Spare bulbs and Beru spark plug- I guess just in case only one gets fouled.

Were the pants LederHosen?
Found a Alternator belt, I think lying on the spare tire.
Nice cracks on the ridges of the belt.
Umpah Lumpah Band time.

I am putting together (yet another) first aid kit -- this one for SITM... the Tex-A$$ Posse....
Have mostly compiled kits for racing/cruising boats' crew or for camping trips.
I have MY ideas, but am curious as to what 'came with the car'...
Thanks!
