Question Fuse on alarm controller?

I removed the passenger seat in my '93 GTS, and discovered an alarm controller box. (The controller was under the glove box on my '89 - did they move it because of the dash changes for air bags?)

Anyway, it looks like there is a fuse socket on the controller, but there's no fuse there. Also, the wiring diagram in the WSM seems to indicate a fuse at the alarm box.

So I'm wondering if there should be a fuse in that socket. There was an aftermarket alarm in the car when I bought it, and there are signs that the installer was in that area.

Can anyone tell me if the alarm installer pulled that fuse or that there never was a fuse there in the first place? And if a fuse does belong there, what amperage?

Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
I do not remember any fuse in the controller area.
After I added a remote there was.
So possibly a PO addition.

There is (right on the box) and it should be there...

Sounds like it was disabled this way...

Tom - I think the airbags had something to do with it due to less space up under the dash - but it was also changed to a bigger single unit that now controls alarm, interior lights and central locking - do these other features work fully? The Fuse value is not well documented - my car actually has a self resetiing circuit breaker there - not sure if it came fom the factory that way...? Although the value isn't quite clear - I'd assume it must be at least 15A for the horn / lights which it drives in alert mode.

Alan,

Thank you very much! I have had strange electrical behavior - that's why went through the CE panel, etc. Hopefully this while clear up a lot of wierdness.

Regards,
Tom
