Default Could this be my fuel pump?

Hi All, I went for a ride today about 15 miles, and the car ran well. Got home shut it off, left it outside with the windows open, to sweep out the garage, and let it get some freshair. Went to start it up and bring it back in and it went to start, and it shut down, so I went to start it again, and it just cranked, with no start. So I went to the relay and did the jumper, and I heard the pump faintly, not very loud, then tried to start it with the jumper in and it still just cranked, and no start. I tried to change the relay anyway, and still the same. I also noticed that when I initially went out today the battery was low, but it started anyway. Any thoughts would be great, I am thinking that one of the pumps is bad. Thanks, Greg

The starter has high current draw. With a weak batt other systems wont work properly. Charge batt and see what happens. Only 1 pump.

Thanks I was thinking the same thing after I typed the initial paragraph. I have a charger on it now, but, it will take a few days, it is a trickle charger. Untill then it is stuck outside. Oh well, we will see. Thanks Greg

Mine acted the same way (Pre electrical yearly maint. ala post #33 that is). Aside from some bad contacts, it was definetly a low battery on a couple of occasions. Maybe you should invest in a good charger. My baby hates to be left outside (and I feel guilty to).

Thanks for the reply, I have it charging now, I really hope it is just the battery, I might change the fuel filter and pump, anyway.

Update... Ok, I went an bought a new battery today, put it in, and tried to start.... same thing just crank. So.... Just for the hell of it I changed the Injector relay, and vrooomm, started right up. Really weird, but, I am happy it is running again, I think I am going to change the fuel filter anyway, and maybe the pump. Thanks all for all of your help, Greg
