If you have spark at the plugs, then the flywheel sensor is fine. It might be best to double check that, as everything suggests that there may not be a rpm signal from the EZK to the LH .

Also check for 12v on pin 35 of LH connector, when igntion is switched on.

i dont see how you could put the knock sensor where the flywheel sensor goes, they wont fit. Also I think the knock sensor is a 2 pin connector and the flywheel sensor has 3.

PHP Code:
It might be best to double check that, as everything suggests that there may not be a rpm signal from the EZK to the LH

How do i do that? Something like messurering on pin #XX while i crank the engine? Im sure that someone can tell me this, so just be a bit ahead here:
What do i do if there is no signal between the 2 units?

Regarding the connectors. On top of the ingineblock. Under the intakake. Between the 2 cylinderrows. There is , what i belive, a knock sensor with a 3 pin connector. i think i migth have put that one where the flywheelsensor is suppose to go. Not sure tho. otherwise i am pretty much out of ideas. Getting the feeling like it is something basic that i have forgotten.
The car was manufaktured in 1988 but it is a 1989 model. The engine block is a 1988 but all the wireing, injektion, fuellines and so on that came with the car is for the old engine which does not exsist anymore. Is it something that i should customise for it? cant see what i would be. it is just the block itself that has been changed. When i bourgth the car from the previus owner he changed the ECU, saying that the one that was in the car was broken. Cold the previos owner have been wrong on this? He seemd like a nice chap, and we picked the rebuild ECU up at the Porsche customer service center in Stuttgart. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about. But then again .. my german is even vorse than my english.

Ryan,

This exact thing just happened to me. Replaced FP relay 3 months ago, always starts right away. Filled up with gas, started fine, drove about a mile, parked then when I came back, it sputtered then wouldn't start. Combination of new relay and just filliing up, made me think of bad gas (the kind one buys, not makes themselves) before I remembered about the relay. That relay also seems to tie into the ignition system.

2 hours later i get to the car and start it to leave and it cranks but dosent fire immediately (or as it typically does) Ok i try again and get it to fire, it stumbles, the tach shows it stumpling at 150-200 rpm and it runs that way for about 5-8 seconds then dies. I try again and it wont fire, another time it will fire and runs at the same low rpm for a few seconds until it dies again. When i had gotten it to run, i try and give it gas to clear its throat but it promptly cuts out.

I assume the problem to be electrical and not mechanical. I assume its a fueling issue and something with the electronic fuel injection.

When i think about it, i remember the car doing something similiar maybe 2 months ago out of the blue when it was in the garage. I didnt really think much of it, i think i got out of the car did something unrelated to the car and got back in, tried it again and it ran fine.

Any suggestions?

try the fuel pump. Just put the key in the on position before it would engage the starter, you should hear the fuel pump. Note, if you have PSD, you will also hear the PSD pump. So if you hear buzzing, dont assume its the fuel pump. With the key in position 2 put your ear to the fuel pump and if its dead them you would most likely have the same situation that I had, a dead pump. Buy a new one and replace.

I also did my in-tank pump, you may or maynot have one depending on your model year. The intank pump isnt really critical though.

one trick to try to pull the relays out that I have done is to use one of those little metal pick sets. The ninety degree one works the best. Just work it around the outside and work it out a little bit at a time.

....ps, make sure that you disconnect your battery prior to doing this....
