I think the 928's were rated to tow up to 1000lbs?? What does that trailer weigh....it would be so cool with matching wheels and painted the same!! Plus you could load wheels/tires-tools in it when you go to the track!

I thought tongue weight was 1k lbs, but actual towing capacity was more like 3,500 lbs.

Ya, but then I would have to buy 928 International's 928 pickup to haul it with.

It's cool to figure out what a 928 can safely tow. I suspect that the power and transmission/final drive capability isn't even a factor- add a good load-equalizing Reese hitch and you can tow a 30 foot travel trailer with a 928.

In theory-

The thing is, a tow vehicle needs a certain amout of mass for the whole situation to work safely. Sure, a 928 can tow a giant trailer; but the first time you have a panic stop however you and the trailer are along for a rather ugly ride I think!

I like to go camping in the Florida keys about once per year, when I can get friends to come with me. I took my tent and my 928 down to Bahia Honda State park a few years ago. If you aren't in a tent, you aren't camping, in my opinion!

N!
