Default Anybody need a dead cat? (catalytic converter '85-'86)

I doubt if anyone's interested, but I thought I'd try...

I have a set of original catalytic converters for an '85-'86. They are probably toast inside, but if someone is putting together a custom exhaust system it might work as a template. It's free to a good home, if you can't pick it up, I'll ask you to pay actual shipping costs.

Alternate use.... Some people have hollowed out the cats by sticking rebar in and pounding with a hammer to shatter the ceramic material within. Retains stock look. Allows a track-oriented car to pass visual emissions inspection. Just another thought in case there aren't any takers interested in templating.

I have one of those too; taking up space out in the barn.

Got a couple of the 4 legged variety but its a family show so we wont go there.

Yeah, it's so crowded in my garage you can't swing a dead cat in there.

Sorry.

I know of some places around here that will give you some $$ for your old cats. Call around, there may be some in your area.

Thanks Gio,

I actually just got a PM from someone who's interested. I'll price the shipping and see if he's still interested.

Hacker, NICE!

I used to have to explain to my kids why the animals like to sleep so close to the road when they're tired. That's nasty!

Abby, I've got the crossovers with high flow cats. Passed emission with them, but I couldn't with the stock cats. I think they're toast.

There are still recyclers that will purchase them from you for approx. $130. That's what we get for them here, don't throw them away.
