Im filling up, there is a young man beside me, he is walking out from paying and asks "Porsche 9285" he asked if it was a special 928. Im standing there thinking WTF is this kid talking about.
Im so thrown off by the weird question I'm thinking he may be setting me up for something so i move so my back is against the pump and I can see all around
and I ask "9285, where do you get that?"
he points to the vinal on the back of the car where is says 928S.... I come off guard and laugh... "No thats 928 S" we had a 10 min talk, nice kid it seems and I set him straight. So now Im paranoid, I looked at the vinal a few times tongiht and I can surely see how someone may thing 9285.. I think Im going to take it off. ![typing](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/yltype.gif)

Are people in Eerie, PA that scary? Was he a meth head? I've had the oddest collection of people appreciate my car, get lots of compliments from people younger than the car.

The Mustangs and Camaros are routine. It is the ricers and pickup trucks that crack me up. Everyone and his brother wants to race it seems. The ricers sneak up on you, and fly by at around 40 mph. Of course, the 928 is most at home after 80, but some of these idiots are hard to spot until they're past. Then there are the "off the line" bozos. Sheesh !! I wish sometimes I had a tire store between them and Bill Ball, I'd be retired and living on my yacht right now. Aw, I just ignore 'em now. Or deliberately slow down. Do you need this crap? I'm not about to swap my P car for something else so who cares?

People in erie are VERY stange. Jelousey runs rampid here. It is also so old school. By far it is the cheapest place i have ever been. I have sold my product in 4 markets now and Erie takes the cake in only caring about the bottom line.... they have this mentallity about worrying about service when they cross that bridge or even quality of the product they are buying, they shop shop shop.....
It does work out to my advantage though.
I had my first 928 3 speed tranny rebuilt for $1000.00 The first TB job I had done, I let the "porsche" guy in town do it... he let me get all the parts and charged me 250 labor. companies have been beaten so low for so long they don't even try to make money anymore.....
so to answer your question, Yes they are different people here.

Some crazy black guy here in GA thought my car was a "souped up" Honda.
I don't see it. Go figure.

the scion tc's and hyundai are the ones that molest me all the time.
it takes them a ton of their fart-cans 'mooooooooohh' to pass me.
and then when they finally manage, they'll cut right in front of me.
i don't even go there if speeding up and most of the times i brake a little.

I read the other that Erie has a trade surplus with China because of the GE locomotive plant. More expensive than Chinese and Indian locomotives, but also more tons pulled per unit of fuel and cleaner. Cool.
