Default Did you sell a 928 on this board?

Poll to follow:

I have seen a few good cars here on the list with fair to good price tags and they do not sell. Everyone posts and kicks the tires, but no one ever gets out the wallet unless its a give away or a parts car.

I have to wonder is Rennlist the best place to sell your nice running 928? After all you are trying to sell it to people that already have a 928. I bought my latest one on the list, but only after the PO tried for months to sell the car.

Sadly, I've seen more then one 928 for sale on our forum get ripped to shreds, inappropriately IMO.

I'm still debating listing my '85 auto here once I prep it for sale.

Craigslist: yes
Autotrader: maybe
rennlist: probably, but I'm stealing for a pounding if I do so, unfortunately.

No, its not. Most users here(especialy US residents) wants a 928 dirt cheap. I don't think that you can get a 928 cheaper than in the US, more so in the west I believe...It is here(rennlist) that the 928 is most devalued, sorry to say!

funny story, when my 89 was found to have tbf.. I got a million PM's asking to sell it. Now keep in mind all these people came to me... I was unsure what I wanted to do with the car,.So I posted on the board what would make up my mind to sell it.... Everyone came out telling me how crazy I was. As soon as they knew that car was dead and maybe thought I was vulnerable, I felt like I just jumped into a pool of piranhas

I would say 5% get purchased from one Rennlister to another. I tried to sell two cars at giveaway prices and got nothin from this list. One was an ultra rare cabriolet for a stupid low price, but that got ripped to shreds and my OB which was one of the nicest in the United States hands down and no one from the Rennlist bought it. There had to be over $40K into that OB.

This is the worst place to sell a 928.

I did not sell my 928 but I did sell my 951 to a guy who PM me an hour after I listed it. I thought for sure he was not sersious since he was 2500 miles away. But he was and now owns it.

btw, for anyone putting their phone number on autotrader, beware. I got a whole lot of phone calls from 3rd party companies wanting to charge me $80.00 to $180.00because they have a potential customer wanting to buy my STI. What the heck. I told each of them I will give them $300 if the person buys my car, you know, Like a "Finder's Fee", lol, but nooo, you need to become a member first. Next time I sell on autotrader, I may just put my email and leave my phone number off.

I bought my 86.5 from Stan Shaw on here. It was listed on eBay first, but I didn't bid on it there. When he offered it here, he dropped the price to my sweet spot. I was not disappointed.

I would buy a car from a lister, but sold my car privately because I didn't want anybody saying I sold them a lemon. It was a great car. I couldn't believe Kieth's car didn't sell here BTW, and I recall a supercharged beast that no one wanted a few years back. Both cars were real steals, givaway prices, as was mine. First guy who looked at my car bought it on the spot. It should have gone to a lister.

I haven't sold mine yet either - lots of interest, but nothing finalized - maybe with the warmer weather finally coming around, but then I'm in no rush either. So if here's not the place to list it - where is the best place to list it for sale? Autotrader.com?

I have sold 3 GTSs (1 I sold twice so 4 total?) in the past several years and none were purchased by fellow Rennlisters.
