+1 for JB's recommendation of Bridgestone 050. I bought a couple a few weeks ago and put them on the front. I have another Bridgestone model on the rear. They have really helped my tramlining and they perform well in the wet. Of course I won't tell you how fast I have run them, but they work well at "reasonable" speeds. They cost only $80 apiece. If I had a place to store them I would buy a truckload of 'em and sit on 'em for that price. I paid close to $140 for my Bridgestones the last time I bought some, so these are a deal.
Damn, they are $195 / $299 (front/rear) in my size.
The BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 look very cool - noisy as hell.

Kumho SPT's. 245 front and 275 rears in 17.
Works nicely in the rain and dry. Been a good highway tire till this weekend when it got some good scrubbing in the North Carolinian and Tennessean mountains. Handled very benignly even in my
clumsy hands in the corners. Seems pretty predictable as I didn't hit anything nor ran offroad.
Didn't have any front alignment problems but I swear the outer tread blocks seem to be a little worn after SITM.
Been on the car for about 8 months so can't really comment on treadwear till I get to the wear bars.

I'm completely pleased. I think they're quiet, especially compared to the same size Gatorbacks I had 15 years ago (noisiest p.o.s. tires ever)... handle well, break very predictably, when they do spin, good in wet... they just don't do anything wrong. phenomenal bargain.
I had Kumho's on my car 3 years ago and they were harsh and alot of loud road noise( no alignment issues and tread appeared with normal wear). Switched to goodyear F1 and went to SITM (14 hours one way ) and then spirited driving there...I Am So Impressed..Very sticky and Very quiet!!! I couldn't love them better.

I managed to scrub the outer ribs on my PS-2's, and found that alignment and pressure are critical when I use the car in the twisties a lot. The tire temp profile was the telltale. In spite of H's contrary position, the fronts are at 40PSI now, and the toe is set perfectly at 15 mins, all to keep the tire somewhat square on the ground.
The car was set up with a little "extra" toe-in last time, whether intentional or not. The ride height had been set to original range (182 front) prior to alignment, and as it sagged towards a final 180mm static, it was going toe-in. Under cornering, it was going even further toe-in. Contrast this with cars that start low and end up even lower, where sag causes toe-out.
Springs and shocks are wear items on our cars. Worn shocks especially allow a lot of wheel travel when cornering, and the tow change can quickly scrub a rib of the front tires. Consider investing in new shocks to protect your investment in the new tires. Even a new set of original shocks will help most cars a lot, without spending $$ on Bilsteins or Konis. If you do regularly drive twisties or like to do track days, the better spring and shock packages are impressive.

Guess that mid 30's pressure and rear LSD will try and overpower even 245 front tires.
The couple year old Bilsteins may not be fresh but I'm thinking A-arm freshening may help.
Guess I need to learn Fast In, Neutral Out.
