I started doing the motor mounts on my 84 this weekend. While disconnecting the swaybar I noticed the passenger side drop down link looked odd. Below is a pic, and to me it looks like the link is bent! I know it has an angle to it but this looks different.
What is involved in replacing the drop link?

The way a bent sway bar end link would change handling is that it would likely act as a shorter end link (unless it is bending during movement..... unlikely). A shorter end link might result in more understeer.

If only one side is bent, then cross weights will be quite odd, resulting in the car being tighter to one side corners than to the other, and some other side effects (like locking always one of the fronts before the other).
But that amount of bending should be unnoticeable (but, still, dangerous if it fails)

Was warned to replace my bent rear (since straightened) drop link should be replaced with a good one if I intend to DE the car.
Tow truck guy thought the drop link was a great place to put the rear anchoring hook of the flatbed. Wouldn't know if if mechanic hadn't spotted the bent link.
