This is how they looked before. The picture makes them look better than they are, they are faded and scratched bad.

Call me old school, or perhaps just old fashioned, but I love those original wheels. Nice work on restoring them.

dude, you are in londenderry? lets get together next week sometime. I am really interested in forming a greater manchester/ southern NH shark club. lets see... zues, ernie, tommy, you, myself... there's a nice BBQ/ drive right there. btw, if you are ever interested in some S4 rims for that beauty, lemme know. I have a set, polished and in good condition, with good rubber. lasty, my uncle may want to speak with you... he is trying to refurb a set of 16'' phone dials. anycase, good to know there is another shark around!

Bump!

I need to address a glaring cosmetic shortcoming on my 928 and get the wheels refinished. This thread seems to just what I am looking for.

I'll be working with a vendor who offers truing/straightening and refinishing.

Has the work described here held up over the ten years that have passed? Are the supplies still available? Is there anything else for me to consider as I get started?

The current wheels are 16-inch manholes with the anodized bronze-ish finish, and are not original to the car. They are scuffed and generally tired but balance nicely at tire time.

TIA!

Those refinished wheels look fantastic!

Hacker has a set of phone dials on his S4 with spacers, and they look great too.

Both are a case of a smaller wheel which ends up looking really good on a 928.
