Default X-PIPE UPDATE AND OPTIONS 86 ON RM

Well if you have been following my saga after my X-pipe install no c and taking my first 30 min drive I got a ticket for a loud exhaust. I put the factory rear back on and all my music went away.
I called Summit trying to find a mid level replacment for the rear they required all the measurement and Borla may have one. I am sure I not the only one out there with balance between the need for noise and handcuffs. I don't want to drop a grand into an exhaust just some type of muffler to tone it down a little. Please feel free to chime in I sure could use the help.
Bye the way my powder coated intake is done came out a little vibrant for me but it looks good.

How about a pair of cherry bombs where the cats used to be. They are a flow through desing, cost next to noting, very compast and simple to install. AND it shouldn't take any performance away from your system. They could bring the sound levels down just enough to keep the police happy.

Just spoke to Scott M and he suggested a super-trapp set up any one tried this before? The cherry bomb reminds me of the guy down the street with two broken pick ups and a 70 El cameno with the bombs attached If I did that I would paint them and take off the stickers

Paging WG928.
Wayne. You listening.
Wayne from NY has SuperTrapps on his grey 928.
He's also got another 928 with sidepipe exhaust so he's not afraid of non-stock mods.

I think it's pretty cool to be able to use the plates tune the sound.

Did the ossifer inform you what decibel rating you had to aim for?

Borla or Magnaflow 4" round mufflers in place of the cats should do the trick. Much higher quality, better sounding, and longer lasting than cherry bombs.

Here's where I bought my Magnaflow. They are friendly and helpful on the phone. They're also by far the cheapest place I've found for Magnaflow or Flowmaster. I'll probably buy another Magnaflow from them since my car is kind of loud. http://www.completeexhaust.com

Well if Cherry Bombs remind you of your neighbour then you can just cut open and redsign the internals of the original muffler or buy something like the Borlas.

With all this advice has anyone really done this yet?
I hate to invest money into somthing that will be too loud or too soft, feel free to chime in !!! You know I wonder if the rear factory can be broken into and remove some baffels as a last resort !

Real loud or real soft is a personal thing, your levels may be somewhat different from others. I do have some mufflers that go in place of the cats but I haven't gotten around to testing them as they sell out as soon as I get them in.

I like my performance cars to have a bit of an edge soundwise, too loud for a lot of folks but just right to me.

Where did you get a ticket at? Last year my exhaust fell off after leaving the tranny shop, and had to drive all the way back over to the place (Dale Mabry and Busch) Sounded like freakin NASCAR!! Was nervous as I was next to a few cops (sheriff), but they never gave me a second glance.

I recommending partial-coasting while passing local authorities. Backfiring by going completely off throttle is not suggested.

Default update options!

I'm ready to try to get a little more sound out of it !

X-pipe no cats and muffler back on "due to the Ticket"!

Has anyone had this combo and removed the little mid muffler I was wondering what to expect, the power was less after putting the rear back on.

But its the sound too muted, I need to reach a midway point on the noise level.
