It's working for Bulgaria and the purchase of a fleet of Porsche Cayenne ambulances.

Thanks for that correction Erkka - I hadn't realised that Porsche skipped the 'Q' as well as the 'I' and the 'O'.

I remember reading an article a few years back concerning these cars. Apparently, the sultan and his brother were both car collectors...and like most brothers, they had to top each other. Through out the years, they had accumilated a large collection of cars.

The sultan's brother was accused of some wrong doing...and since the sultan was so distressed about his brother, he stopped spending money on cars. Since this was a hobby they both shared, he had no reason to continue without his brother. This is why the cars were no longer maintained.

There were also rumors that when it was time to get rid of a car, they were simply pushed into the ocean.

This story reminds me of Imelda Marcos and her closet full of 2,000? pairs of shoes.

What a dirtbag that guy is! He used to be the sultan of bling, now it looks like a junkyard. That "country" I think Sultanite is the term, confuses most people because it sounds like somewhere in the sandbox, when it's actually a pacific rim country. He's clearly an infantile imbecile, a "collector" doesn't just *****-nilly buy a dozen of the same year car, especially when they're brand new.

People of Brunei, storm the castle and claim your 928! There are plenty to go around.

We'd all be much better off if all the oil was in Scandanavia and the BENELUX countries.

I hadn't the above post yet, glad to see I wrong about him being infantile!

As much as I love the internal combustion engine, petroleum has given a lot of stupid people, stupid amounts of money, with which they do stupid things.

Quote from Syriana sums it all up: You know what the business community thinks of you? They think that a hundred years ago you were living in tents out here in the desert chopping each other's heads off and that's where you'll be in another hundred years.

Jim,

I suspect handling and maintaining 400 cars is much easier than keeping two or so wives from scratching each other's eyes out and neutering the point of contention. Cars are much more forgiving.
