Default AAARRRGGG....it sold from under me

Well, I was finally ready to make my purchase. Clean carfax, right year and color combo, in good condition. I made travel arrangements to go to Chicago and had the finances arranged. Then, it happened. I get a notification from the dealer that it sold locally. I am pretty bummed right now.

Maybe this is for the best, this will give me a little more time to find the right car. Although at this point I bet that I am going to have to wait unti winter for the glut of cars that people are done with there summer fun with and logic dictates the need to clear it out.

Man, I really thought that this was going to be the one. I was so looking forward to being able to post here saying that I am a 928 owner. I was looking forward to being able to go to Sharks in the mountains or to Sharks at the Autobahn (is that still on this year?).

If anyone sees any great deals pop up that you know you can't do please pass it on to me.

There, I feel better now. If anything this has reinforced the idea of how badly I want a 928. Just look at my join date on rennlist. I finally joined 2 years ago and have been lurking a year or two prior to that. I think it is time to finally get a paying membership although that was something I was saving until I actually owned one. I feel like a poser here without a shark of my own. Anyway enough rambling. Thanks for everyone here that is always so willing to help. You guys are great.

Think of it this way, you now have more time to save up a bit of cusion so you don't have to dicker on price.

It's a new day and while still a little bummed I feel better. At this point I am going to wait just a little longer so I can have more options. My budget right now has 10K cash in hand for purchase (took a couple of years to get that). If I wait until next year I can have 12-14K saved up.

Ideally I am looking at a 87-91 S4 auto is fine and I would rather spend a little extra on condition than for the premium that a 5 speed would carry. But, if a 5 speed was a good deal I would be all over that. Color is flexible, I do love the common red and black (I know, how original). I prefer some of the darker colors, and I am not a big fan of white, or brown.

Anyway, this is the one that got away. Went for about 9K. Well, there will be others.

There are several 928 models listed in sfbay craigslist... a particularly nice looking 84 S black and tan 5 speed I wish was available when I bought mine.
