Default Interior Code VE ? (Red?)

Can't find any info about it. Anyone? I'm assuming that it is red, but is this the same as "Can-Can" Red? Is can-can red an official name?

TIA

John,
That looks like Can can red but could also be Lobster red.

Hi Roger. Are those the "official" names?

With "Can Can" interior....shouldn't the carpet also be red??? I'm guessing it was changed at some point? Still looks good!

Not necessarily. I found black/red interiors in some of the other forums on here too (997, 944, 911). That would be like saying the color of the seats and door trim will always match the carpet in every 928.

This may help --just put it on another post:

leatherique.com points to gahh.com, which has these OEM swatches:

Check AVATAR. Also an '86. Don't see why you couldn't order the thing any way you wanted it. Worked at a Chevy dealer back in the 70's - a Suburban came in blue with a two-toned brown interior (you had to see it, much worse than you'd think). It was literally so bad the new car lot kid wouldn't accept it off the truck and called the new car manager over first.
The red carpets show the grease from the seat gizzmos.
