I finally recieved a steering wheel hub adaptor for my Momo steering wheel after a 2 month delay from my local supplier... I went to fit it tonight, and no chance of fitting.
The hub only slides over the splined steering column about 1/2", and even if it slid on all the way, it looks like i'd only just be able to get the nut on because the depth of the splined hole in the hub is far deeper than the original steering wheel.
I think the supplier might have sent me one for a later 928 instead of the early one, which I need.
What were the differences between the early and late style fittings?
Ben

The air bag cars used a 944 splined hub, Momo part # L7004 (944 from 85.5 to 91)
The 928 used Momo adapter L7005 (larger st. shaft diameter than 944/air bag 928's)

Whats are we talking about the difference in size, less than a mm, or something more significant?
The adaptor i've got isn't momo, so I cant check on the part number. The supplier stated that its for all 928's upto 88 none airbag. That'll teach me for trying to save a few pennies and buying inferior products.

Ok,
I did some research, apparently the adaptor I have is supposed to suit:
911S 08/74>
911 SC
911 Turbo
912S 72>
928 >88
Carrera 74>93
I checked out Momo's fitting list, and the L7005 - 928 hub adapter has a unique part number, not shared by any other Porsche models.
Can anybody tell me why the Momo adapter only fits a 928, while my crappy one is supposed to fit 911's as well?
