If you haven't already done so, check your temp II sensor. It will cause you car to run rich.

Hi Normy, Sorry...couldn't resist. We had named our first 928, a white 84 US with red interior, Christine, because she was forever pulling some crap like this. Her favorite trick was to just, out of the blue, light up everything on the dashboard for no apparent reason. Nothing would go wrong, she'd just be talking s#!t. I'm really glad for your sake that the problem seems to be resolved! Nice job!
