Default Need Help in Buffalo, NY

I've been bitten! Happened a long time ago. But I may have found a 928 to purchase. It's in Cheektowaga NY, which is right by the Buffalo airport I believe. Would anyone be willing to help me out and take a look at it?

The visit has been cleared by the current owner. I am trying not to fly all of the way out there and be dissapointed. It's an '85, and all I need is an objective opinion. If you can/would like to help me please pm me and we'll continue from there.

If anyone would like to chime in on key areas to look at that is welcome also. I have been trying to do my homework with searches and recent threads, but you guys are the experts

Thanks in advance.

I will be headed out there Friday if you want me to take a look at it. I'm not a 928 expert, but I can go over the car like I would if I was going to buy it.

Oh, er, nevermind...

I thought you were talking about my 'rear seat delete' project.

Version 1 was met with about as much praise as a new Microsoft offering. I'm back at the drawing boards right now still healing from the lambasting, er, suggestions I got for that one .

Damn, didn't really want to bring that one up.

Yes I was there today in Niagra Falls. i am installing a netowrk at a Sheriton Hotel. I will be there tur-thur-friday.

after thinking about this for 20 min:

I'm sorry I do not want to get involved. Last time i did this was for a guy in california that bought a 911 from right here in Erie. Well next thing I know, Im being ask to testify this and that. Write a letter to the local Atty Gen office. A million calls a day from the guy...Blah Blah Blah... I guess the car was not as it appeared even though i drove it, took a god zillion pictures of it...... I guess it needed valve work, and the odometer was tampered with... Im sorry.. But i have to say no. To many lawers this day of age looking for new work since the TORT option was instituted on auto insurance. I am really sorry.. I used to be the first to step up to the plate to help... but people have just gotten too weird

Sorry, didn't mean to 'volunteer' you man. I know you've got your hands full with your own cars too.

That's way up there or I would consider making a road trip of it.

OTOH, he did ask for an 'expert' and that's certainly not me, so...anyone?

You might PM hincliffe he's in Rochester and has had a few 928's. Cover his gas and maybe he'd do it for you?

Hey,
I totally understand. I would never buy a vehicle based solely on anothers opinion. I just need a "seems to be a fair car for the deal" or not. I will follow up a "thumbs up" with a visit by myself and another individual. I have looked at many cars for people in the past an offer an opinion, but not a guarantee. Thank you for looking at the post though. I have received some info that I really need to follow up on, so if there is anyone still available please let me know.

Thanks again to both Shark Attack and Mr. Frye for the consideration.
Mike thank you also for the lead.
