Yes, my former convertible. The spider was ceramic coated in silver chrome - around $150. Waaaay less time-consuming than polishing.

Tarek still comes around here but he hasn't posted for awhile for whatever reason:

Very nice pics. Now I know where I have to go with my car.

Randy, are you running without the fresh air pipes to your air filter ?

They were removed for the photo to better show some of the engine detailing.

Used Mothers Metal polish on a lot of mine. It works great but you have to touch up once a month.

I don't mind that.

I almost didn't click on this link................dirty mind and all.

SeanR. I used the mothers aluminum polish and followed up by a good cleaning until a white towel came off clean, and then I waxed it. The wax should keep the oxidation to a minimum.

If I heat the bolts they should expand and make it more difficult to remove.

Do you need my spanner wrench for you shocks?

VERY nice, Randy! It's tough to get all the metal bits to look right. I notice your cam cover rubber plug strips are also a nice chromate, and the intake boots on the runners are correct. But please do me a favor and break loose with a few bucks to replace your washer reservoir cap.

I'll try the wax, good idea.

You will find that that stuff works great on damn near everything.
I need to update this pic, it looks better now......well not tonight, it's torn apart replacing vac stuff.

Gotta keep something old to make the rest look that much better, JP!

I actually did replace that cap after the pic was taken. This is all ancient history now, as all that work saw an unhappy end. The engine still looks good though:

Is the '78 steel rod stronger than the later aluminum one? I've read that it is a weak point. In fact, my rod is bent! It looks OK to the eye, but if you runn a finger along the underside you can feel ripples in the middle and in my perception I can feel that flexing under hard cornering.

I would never admit to self gratification being a republican and all.

What other pics are there of her?
