When I changed my trans fluid my shifting improved. The PO used Redline along with the fluid change reciept to prove it. The amount of metal in both the fluid and the magnetic drain still makes me sick at least I know it was only in there for 2k miles. After researching peoples experiences and my personal experience I decided to go with Mobile 1.

After changing to Mobile 1 gear changes when cold were much smoother and percise (there is still some notchiness). Once the tranny warms up shifting is percise and smooth. The best part is my 3-4 shift no longer does the occational crunch. The typical driving I do is about 50/50 freeway/city I can't say what the durability of the oil is on the track but for my use it is fantastic and I've been very happy. No I'm not a Mobile 1 sales rep.

I originally went through several different trans fluids when i had my 1988 944. Mobile 1 worked the best and solved all of my notchy shifting in that car.

I have a feeling that is what I'll eventually end up doing. That's the only way you really know what works best. It would be nice to be able to drive a brand new 928 just to see what the shifting originally felt like. I can't believe it had any notchiness to it whatsoever. For the money that these cars originally cost, the shifting should have been perfect. Maybe it will take a transmission r & r to achieve that........

Hmmmmmm.....Crack???? I haven't been in Amsterdam recently......and even then I only partake in 2nd hand Ganja smoke while drinking in the Black & White or Excalibur. But Glad it helped.
