Yea, saw it yesterday. It looks quite nice, but I wonder if they have any details on the damage. Anybody down there going to look at it?

Is this not the same one that's been for sale for years and is in really rough condition?

I looked at it about a month ago. At the time it wasn't running as the intake manifold was off for some gaskkit work.
He had it in autotrader for months if not years for 40. I told him that if he wanted to see it, he might look at 30, and that I might even look hard at it for that number (that was before I got my 87 S4), but that was before I knew it was a salvage title.

I didn't think it looked that good. alot of scuff marks, little dings. Interior seats looked alittle tired for a 35k mile car. it didn't blow me away.
Don't know how you could verify why the salvage title. I think the salesman said the owner got it from a friend, and was going to use it as his personal car, but decided not to.

Overall it didn't seem to be in as good as physical condition as my car, which I'm told is pretty clean.

I guess at 25 it's a good deal isn't it? 30 with regular title, obviously too low. with salvage, don't know. but probably one of the GTS lovers/fanatics will probably pay it. will be interesting to see. I'd like to him get no bids and next time around start at 20 or 25, would surely then be alot of action.

Well, I took another look at the pics. The only thing I can say is the intake tubes are waaaay more gone than mine with 69K on mine done in S Cal, could be the hot weather in TX??? I do see the scuffs, but we know there are more important things to be concerned about on this car. The antenna extension is missing, or the detailer forgot to put it on.

Looking at the 928 Registry web site, it looks like the seller has had this car since at least Aug. 2003. Seems odd to me that a dealer would keep a car around this long.

Notice the hood lines dont match up with the passenger fender, like mine after I restored/repaired it.

It looks like it has 85k miles or more from the condition of the interior and the paint. Worn button paint, shift ****, cluster cover, paint scuffed, etc...

Yeah - those intake tubes are about as far gone as you can get before the foam falls right off and ends up on the engine undertray..

I bet most of the air comes in along the sides of the tubes already ...

Rog, 15K for a 5 speed gts? In my opinion, without seeing it it is easily worth 25K in the condition its in.

Rough as old boots - salvage title - broken digital display WHY? - head work - major accident possibilities - been for sale for about 3 years - early 93 model - need I go on.
If it was any good it would have sold a long time ago.
There is no way that car has only done 36k IMOO.
