Hi All ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I need a little help please![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I need a new master cylinder and looking at the PET (6)...I cannot figure out which of 2 numbers is correct...
My car is a UK ...S2 (310 hp) and 16 valve 1986...Right hand drive
Part numbers are ...
Either..... 928 355 011 24
Or ........ 928 355 011 23
Any help appreciated....I will be buying from 928 International I think at $249 ....as in the UK ,,,they want $587 (In British Pounds)![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Unbelieveable difference ...
All the best Brett

Brett, from my limited experience I have found that differences in the last two digits only signify an updated / improved part - the lower number having been superseded and the higher number being the supersession. - has been the case for power steering hoses and for some other parts too. But I'm not sure if this applies universally.
Hopefully others can chime in with a more definitive view.

Brett, I've just had a look on PET5.
PN 928 355 011 23 is up to "92GS8 60999" (chassis no. presumably)
PN 928 355 011 24 is as from "92GS8 61000"
so would appear to be a supercession issue.
I note the last two digits for the servo (vacuum booster) changed at the same point as too did the brake pressure regulator. Where it is only the last two digits that have changed, parts may well be interchangeable??
But for what you're planning, won't you need a couple of brake boosters?? :-)
Cheers

Porsche used up their left over 1985 parts to build the first 1000 USA spec 1986 cars is perhaps the best way to think of the 1986-1986 1/2 split. Remember the national speed limit was 55 mph ! Just a couple years earlier ALL speedometers only went to 85 MPH ....so who needed brakes !
