Default *** Detroit Area Beer Night This Thursday *** (3-08-07)

Hey there! It's that time of the month when all the Detroit area 928ers (and the occasional other car owner) get together for our monthly beer/bitch/tech session... okay mostly beer/bitch.

I'm not sure if I'll be there this time or not, but if I can make it, I'll be there.

Location is the same as always @ the Four Green Fields Pub in the strip mall on the SW corner of 13 Mile & Woodward (right next to the Secretary of State's office) in Royal Oak, MI.

Things usually start around 6:30ish and go until whenever.

Remember we have these get togethers on the second Thursday of every month, no matter the weather, so come on by.

**************************************

Don't forget about, Alternative Beer Night! - Read Below

Some of our local owners have been unable to make our Thursday night beer nights, so by popular demand, we're adding an alternative beer night on the last Monday of each month. January was a roaring succes despoit the snow.
This month's alternative beer night will be on February 26th!

This is held at the Shark Club in Canton. The address is 42070 Ford Rd, Canton, MI 48187, (734) 844-7665. It's located on Ford Rd about 1/2 mile west of I-275 just behind Panera Bread. Start time will be about 6:30pm and go until whenever.

I'll annouce this again as the date draws nearer.

Hope to see you all there!

Brian-
Beer night is Thursday... not tonight.

Glad to hear your car is getting sorted out. I should have the rest of my bits and pieces on Wednesday to finish putting my stuff back together. Hope to have the engine back together by St. Patio's day.

I am destined to never make one of these. I'm getting shipped off to IN this week. I'm in for next month for sure.

Cool. Hope you can make it, even though it's looking like I won't make it as my wife is scheduled to fly that day.

SCer's off the car still. Ran into a back order issue on the rear "U" shaped fuel hose. Finally, got the last one in N.A. on Friday. While I was waiting/searching for a fuel hose, I decided to get the cam covers p-coated. They should be back tomorrow or Wednesday. Then its re-assembly time! Barring any oopses, I should have it all back together by this time next week. Only issue is that I sent the seats out to be redone by Rob Budd, and I just scored a set of bilstein shocks, so when I get the SCer back together, I'll probably start on the shocks. So I probably won't really have it all back together for a while yet. Oh well! Such is the life of a 928 owner. Right?

Hey Andrew,

Can I come lend a hand when you do the shocks? I'd like to learn how to do this job (not that I need to do mine), and the suspension system in general.

Sure... I need to get the engine together first, but you're more than welcome to come over. Maybe we should make it a tech session??? Which are generally better for you, Saturdays or Sundays?

I would like in on the Shock party as well. My car has 77K on it and now 20 years old so this might be on my list this coming summer. All I need is a little notice for when this happens.

OK Cliff. I'll be sure to give as much notice as possible. I'm guessing we'll probably do it either the 24th or the 25th or possibly the following weekend.

We'll probably also be repairing a couple of ball joint boots, while we have everything apart. And since we won't have to dis-assemble the shocks, it should be a very quick swap. Should be fun.

Cool. Either day is alright for me, although I'll have to take off around 3pm or so.

I have done the shocks before, your right Andrew if the springs are on that shoud go good, the ball joint project will make the front ones easy.
I have not had the pleasure of doing a ball joint... should be fun to watch.

No spectatoring allowed! You have to be at least prepared to get a little dirty.
