Default 3 Mos. until SITM!

Just reminding everyone to get those projects completed, because before you know it it'll be the end of May!

Along those lines, I just ordered the absolute last rear "U" fuel line in North America. Whew! Had to get it from a P-car dealer in Canada, but at least I can now start putting stuff back together.

Oh yeah, and last week, I was driving back from Orlando with the family, and decided to take everyone on a tour of the Smokey Mountain National Forest. Man it was beautiful! Can't wait to drive through that region again!

Hope to see everyone happy and healthy in Banner Elk.

What projects are under way around the country in preparation of SITM?

I've got:

Suspension: almost complete, upper and lower ball joints, bushings for a-arm and sway bars, tie rods, steering rack, ps pump, shocks?,
Interior: rear seat delete (still in re-design stage), whatever else I can get done, it's a mess in there, radio?
Engine: Intake manifold refresh?

I still don't know if it will measure up, but I gotta give it a try.

No large projects underway. Thanks to Doc Mohr and his cluster I now have a speedometer and everything works except for the trunk latch on the passenger side. I'll be ready for an oil change before the trip. Anybody bringing beer?

Sorry. First off, it was totally a last minute decision to go. Secondly, we literally, packed in as much fun as we could and didn't even have time to even visit my cousin in Tampa.

However, as I drove back passing from city to city, I kept saying, "Oh! I know a rennlister who lives here." My wife was like, "" So it was probably a good decision that I didn't stop by to see any rennlisters. I even thought about stopping in on Dave and Jeanie, but it just wasn't in the cards.

That's okay, though, Mel. I'll see you in 3 months and we'll share many beers.

Can't wait for my first SITM! I'm sure I'll be finished with the valve covers and hoses, but I'll be on to something else for sure. Hopefully I'll have new wheels by then too.

Can't Wait!

Projects underway? Lets see... moving into our new house, a wedding (JOP style), TB/WB job w/ the PorKension'r, GTS aero mirror paint and install, wheel rehab/repaint. I hope I have time to do a wax job before the trip.

It's been 4 years since I last attended SITM. I'm looking forward to being there again and seeing everyone.

It's good inspiration to get my projects done.. But ready or not, I'll be there.

Regards,
Jim Doerr

If you guys went to Universal Studios you may have even met me (I work there, albeit like once every few months for the tickets). Hopefully I will have the engine and everything ready in time for SITM. This is perfect. I love the 928s, the Smokies, and I've been dying to go to one of the get togethers.

What are the roads around Banner Elk like for cycling (on a proper skinny-tyred road bike, not a fat-tyred mountain bike)? I thought it might be pleasant to get up early and go for a peaceful ride, before the 'real' fun begins and the roads get all Porsched. Anyone get any opinions? Any other keen cyclists attending also contemplating bringing their bike?
