I've got my 86.5 in the shop for valve cover replacement, and while they were taking things apart, all kinds of hoses started to just break in two. I checked it out and these things were hard as a rock and splitting.
So, obviously they need replacing, and with help from 928 International we're finding some of the hoses, but my question is: What do you do about breaking hoses? Is it easy to find a 'set' of all the hoses, or do you just try to find them piece by piece?
If anyone has advice, I'd love to hear it (relating to the hoses... not necessarily to the fact that I've got my 928 at a repair shop and not in my own garage. Someday I'll be where many of you are, but at this point I'm leaving it to more educated guys).
Thanks!
Dave

I replaced hoses piece by piece. I used silicon hose from Hose Techniques for the small bore hoses. You will also find that some of the plastic fittings are brittle and will also need to be replaced.
I don't think there ia an easy way.

Thanks Sean. I wasn't sure what the deal was with hoses, but that makes a lot of sense. I'll be sure to check the plastic fittings as well.
Thanks for the input!

Dave-
Contact your favorite vendor and have them assemble a package of all the runnber and plastic bits needed for your valve cover R&R. If you try to piece-it one by one, you'll end up spending a lot more downtime waiting for those last few pieces, or more likely you'll end up "making do" with old crumbly parts that will surely fail soon inder the intake someplace where they are hardest to change. Do it once, do it right, do it like you mean it. You'll be way happier in the end.
