Get this, when we opened up my passenger door to take a look as to why the window wouldn't move, I had cut wires in the sleeve between the door and the body. Not only that, the motor was shot also.

I have fixed the window motors just by putting new grease in the gears. Seems over time the grease congeales and slows the motor to a stop. Clean up the bushings and put in new grease and the motor is like new.

Hi John
Did you take a good look at the fuse and the fuse receptical, and one other spot you might want to check is the electrical connector for the door wires. On my 79' I just had to block the window assembly up with a piece of wood unbolt the regulator assembly and slide the plastic roller out of the widow guide and remove the regulator with motor still attached from the door frame.
Do you think winter will ever leave the valley? This is getting ridiculous!!

I had the same situation with intermittent (worked for one week not the next)
drivers window. Turned out to be the motor I bought a replacement after I couldn't get the original to work with any reliability.
It's like 3 bolts after you remove the panel, you can see where the motor is plugged in at the top left port on the door. I think you need to support the window with a piece of wood or something before removing the motor if I recall corectly.
There are many write ups/threads on this.
