Default 83 body side moulding

I have an 83 that is in pretty good condition ,save for the side mouldings.the paint is bubbling, cracked off in spots, and generally detracts from the car's appearance. Is this moulding held on with two-sided tape only,or are there also screws, and the attendant holes through the panels?

Two sideing tape, we all wish. If it were that easy, my bet is that there would be a lot less side mouldings on 928s. Unfortunately, removal require quite a bit of body work.

front fender has 2 metal pins that plug into plastic grommets doors have a pin at the front of the door and a bolt at the rear just peel back the door seal you will find it and the quarted moulding has 2 pins similar to the fender, to get the mouldings off I would suggest that you put blue tape above and below the moulding, get a very strong piece of 80 lb test monofilament and get a hair drier heat the moulding up at one end and then slip the line under the moulding and holding both ends preferably wrapped around a handle of some sort slide the line down the moulding this will seperate the DBT from the door and cause the least amount of bending of the mouldings they have a thin piece of metal in them and if you try to peel them off by pulling them you will bend them and also crack the factory paint and thius they will be trash, Good luck, Stan
