Default Rear Upper Control Arm Cone Washer Orientation Question

I'm trying to chase down the out of spec negative camber on my left rear. I believe others have had the same problem and someone found replacing the upper control arm bushings helped. That's what I've done and I'm in the process of putting it back together. There 's a cone washer on each end of the control arm. Could someone who has their rear tire off take a look and tell me which way each of the cone washers orient. You can't tell from looking at the workshop manuals nor is it clear in PET. Thanks

mY GUESS, TRYING TO VISUALIZE it, would be concave OUT, as in -)----(- .
The otherway round, wouldnt the edges touch the arm or the bush....?
Dont quote me though. I have seen a pic of an arm that was mounted with its curve upwards instead of down, and it was rubbing on the body....

That's the way they were but it appears the bushing was pushing out. Now that I have new bushings pressed in it appears if I turn the cone washer inward it will keep the bushing from moving and the washer doesn't touch the control arm, it leaves a small gap. Makes me wonder if someone had it off once and installed it wrong.

The cone part of the washer goes inward, like this )----( The cone also mates with a female cone on the arm bushing so it ends up ))---((. The outside of the washer should be flat and against the arm. Yes there is a gap, but it's normal, or at least on the four cars I've done.

You'll probably find that the out of spec camber problem is in the adjustment eccentric itself. Look for a post by shocki that covers the issue.

I'm pretty sure my problem is with these upper control arm bushings. Because the cone washer was installed wrong it was letting the control arm push back a bit which would add more negative camber. I can see a difference now that it's all back together. If/when I get another alignment I'll post the difference.

Camber problem on my car was due to the wheel bearing and hub being worn.

Was the bearing making any noise or other signs of failure?
