I've had some personal dealings with Pat and can say that he is a top notch guy, as well as very passionate when it comes to the 928. Seems that he was way to passionate in the forums defending the 928 against what he saw as a "dis" from the rear engine crowd. He took it to level from which he knew there would be no return.

Yeah, I enjoyed reading Pat's post here in the 928 forum.... now in the OT, I learned long ago to just stay away from there!

Pat got mixed up with the wrong "people" who kept fuelling his fire offline.

Yea, and his "credits" were questionable, as in not verifiable and/or enhanced. Did not appear stable.

I met Pat Edwards and his wife at the Sunset Porsche swap meet in Sept 2005. He invited me to the "Sharks in the Hood" event; however, it occured on the same weekend I was going to fly to Minnesota to pick up my 928 and drive it back to Oregon.

Pat was the first person in the "928 community" I met and he must have talked to me for over an hour and a half at the swap meet about the 928, who was who in the community and about PacNW928 and 928 International. Then I got a 30 minute crash course in the 928 when he showed me his car.

After I got back from Minnesota I learned the "Sharks in the Hood " event was a lot of fun and tried to get in touch with Pat but never got any responses from email or phone. Later I learned he moved out of state.

I liked the guy...........he could be over the top, on occasions........ As if any of us are perfect....... NOT. He knew what he was doing, and as best I could tell, he was worldly enough to know and ACCEPT the consequences of his actions.

I wish he had not pushed it so far, because now we have to make due here without him. (There are a lot of jerks still here, I already happily do without, see ignore thread) Tell you one thing..........**** hits the fan???.... Pat is a guy I want on my side.

Exactly. I told Pat this BEFORE he nailed the coffin shut (standing next to him at porken's) and he said "H, sobeit ..... I know they're gonna shut me down but I have no problem with it". Pat is a great guy. I too disagree with his renn-suicide, but it was his decision.

Me and that guy would be rolling in the dirt within seconds. He pissed me off with his anti-New Orleans BS and I hope him and his 928 rot in hell.

An over opinionated *** is what he is.

Abby, I would PAY money to see you two guys going at it.....(in a brotherly sort of way, of course).

Yeah, he could be an opinionated sob, and I can see that if that opinion were aimed at someone or something they held close, there could be some fireworks.

I (and the Abby I know) are also passionate people......That alone doesn't make us bad human beings. Pat ain't a bad guy, AND he has experienced things you and I can not even imagine. Rough around the edges perhaps, but I took the opportunity to learn from him.

I appreciate where you are coming from, yet I hafta say that I think you might be surprised how much you and he (for that matter, all three of us) have in common.

'Course this is coming from a guy who would gladly dump the (now up to) 8 people I have on my Ignore list in trade for having RED UFO back. So yeah.....maybe I AM crazy.

Peace Brother.

Your probably right, the word passionate is used next to my name quite often. He just got real over the top with his pissing matches and appeared to me to be simply doing it for the attention and to be an ***. I never had a run in with him as he was already banned when I read his garbage in regards to New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina.

Probably a good guy in a way, but who needs a good guy in the way?

Just goes to show you......... the opportunity to make a good impression is fleeting, and once it is gone...........well, it is a bitch to get back.

We all have our faults............ and I fer one, got a whole truckload of 'em. As long as I can get along with the people I meet in life, who are stand up guys (or gals as the case may be), I don't really give a **** what anyone else thinks.

Best I can tell, Pat has had a lot of hard knocks in life, being tough has served him well. It has prolly lost him the respect of some he would choose otherwise.

Anyway, like I said...... I like the guy, he has some sand.
