I've been after him to at least put his first name in his sig - and I will continue to do so until he comes to realize that we are all friends here and complete anonymity is NOT appreciated by the majority.

Heinrich,
On this forum I definitely fall into the category of newbie. And when it comes to questions pertaining specifically to uniquely 928 stuff, I either leave it alone or as Ed said, I'll just say what I've read in previous posts or in my searches unless I've been there and done it.
If I'm one of the 'newbie experts' you're referring to, I apologize.
When it comes to stuff that really pertains to all cars though, if I'm online and someone has a question about changing brake pads, I'll do what I can to help because it's something I've done dozens of times on various cars.
I think sometimes a forum has a 'pecking order' that everyone gets comfortable with, and then when some new guy comes in, everyone gets a little uncomfortable.
Also, some of us post in other threads or in 'Off Topic' which shouldn't really count on our post count if you ask me, because nobody should take any of that seriously .
If I've done or said anything to upset things I'm sorry, us newbies are just really enthusiastic about our cars and this is the only place where people want to talk about them all the time.

All that said, I'm glad the there is new enthusiastic blood in the group. We need it to replace the grey-haired guys who give up the calling for one reason or another. Hopefully it isn't because of the influx of [over]enthusiastic newbies. We also need to be carefull not to stifle the enthusiasm of new members by criticising their lack of experience to match their enthusiasm. Not everybody was born an expert like we born-experts were.
Just think about how many prominent folks have passed on from the group, and how much knowledge and expereince went with them. Cherish then the folkks who are willing to post over 2,000 time in he first few months. Shape amd guide their enthusiasm so they will still be here when we pass on to driving big slow Kia sedans or worse.

I post here so I can get email notification that someone has posted in a particular thread and I can think I get alot of email. Otherwise I would need a shrink to tell me I was OK and it was OK not to have alot of friends. Somedays are harder than others, but I must cope, so I post and wait for email notices and then I feel all better......whew. You know.....it makes me feel better just talking to all of you.......guess I'll go now.....and wait for more email so I'll feel loved and not alone.....
