Sheesh.

The 16V'r is a conversion to use adjustable 32V gears on the 16V cams. On a 16V LH/EZF equipped euro, it would adjust the valve timing, ONLY.

You can tweak some EZF inputs to make it advance the ignition timing. That's what the EZ-F'r does.

I read where Darien was able to pull or make up 50 hp on his SC'd 86 using your porkensioner. Some day perhaps I will use up some dyno time playing with some valve adj.(using the 16V'r) Would be nice to add some more hp.

I'll have to search for that easy f'er.

TV if you get more horsepower at high RPM by playing with cam timing it is ALWAYS at the expense of torque at low RPM . The camshaft profile and timing is a COMPROMISE in any engine and is IDEAL for maybe a 1,000 RPM range above or below that it is less than efficient . By adjusting the cam timing you can make the engine act like it has a different cam and a different sweet spot BUT always a trade off between high RPM low RPM and most people most of the time feel torque ...Porsche could have set the cam timing anywhere, they chose to put it where it is as their estimate of the best over all performance for most people if you use your car differently then adjust away...

Darien was using the V1 32V'r. The PorKension'r is a timing belt tensioner replacement!

(Tweaking EZ-F)
(Tweaking EZ-F, part deux)

For my new Nitrous electronic controller.....I NEED a 12 v take off for the revs......now I have a twin dist S2...with twin coils.....ANY idea where I can take the feed or pulse from so the controller can read the revs please ???

All the best Brett

Yes Jim, I am aware of that, what the adjustability might achieve is attaining textbook perfection that human build quality and service might have offset.

So the 16V'r might make an already nice performing 85 euro the perfect performing euro and grab 15 hp. I have no real complaints with mine but would not say no to more.

Thanks all for the info. So..........in other words, keeping my 2 caps & rotors contacts clean & new plugs, maybe wires, will be about all I need to do, as far as the ignition is concerned?

Hi BF,

your's looks the same

no website, yes my euro is mechanically 100%, the interior and paint are extremely good but I need to recover the steering wheel and shifter handle. Some day soon I need wider 18" wheels.

I lucked out in that the orig owner ordered the optional tranny and lsd. The car screams all the way to redline, very quick.

One of my favorite pics, a real world magazine dream team run.
