Default Nitrous Kit questions

I have been searching rennlist seeking nitrous advice and didn't really find the information I was looking for.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-N...spagenameZWDVW

1. Is this kit what I should be looking at for a basic nitrous setup?

2. Do I just tap the sprayer into the MAF boot?

Do another search, Brett had a link to another site with detailed instructions on setting up nitrous on the 928.

This is not the way to do it IMHO.

The only way I would do it (and I am not going to do it) would be with a fogger set up on each runner to keep the chances of a cylinder running lean to a minimum.

lots of other parts will be needed as well.

To do it right you are going to have about 1/2 as much $ as a blower will cost you.

Yes, I have run a lot of N2O, but not again.

Hi

Yes my car is still fine and I am about to increase to 500 hp of Nitrous...I use 150 hp on the road every day...

Your best place to ask is here >>> http://www.forum.nitrous-advice.com/

Its the Wizards of Nos site.....they also have a US agent...I am a moderator there as well

You can put the crossfire nozzle in there (for up to 100 hp extra) or for bigger hp Nitrous you can go direct port...in all 8 inlet runners...

All the best Brett

Hi

YES...

YES...

Question for you...why whenever someone even mentions Nitrous do you put up that picture of an explosion ??

As you obviously do not know this....let me educate you....

Nitrous is NOT flammable....

Nitrous is NOT explosive....

Nitrous IS an oxydiser....

All the best Brett

That is the first time I've posted that picture I try to find a new one each time.

Tell that to this guy:
http://www.nearlygood.com/video/nitrousexplosion.html (warning, some pics on this site are not work safe)
Even under 30psi I've never seen a Mustang engine do that on a dyno

Wow, another video!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIzlFO_4vQI (warning, bad language)

I'm pretty sure with a fast enough camera these would look a lot like the picture I posted.

What is this? Another fireball?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCNs_pOu28A (more bad language)

If I keep looking for these I'll hit 19,000 posts by midnight

I have no problem with people using NOS. I have a BIG issue with NOS junkies trying to tell newbies (like our friend who started this thread who is 17) explosions do not happen.

All the best

Yes he has

I have asked before where the 505bhp came from, as his dyno chart of a partial run(if there had been a better one wouldn't he have posted it ?) had 379rwbhp , thats using a 25% transmission loss.
See HERE for Brett's dyno chart

Brett for all your years drag racing did you not see any No2 explosions ?
I saw my first one in the UK in '85 at North weld drag strip & have seen many more since .

See HERE for Brett's dyno chart
In Brett's defense (cannot find the site) there is a web site with documented before / after engine / chassis dyno's. One drag car (700hp?) had almost 30% drivetrian loss.

Not in Brett's defense - who has ever seen another 928 with a 25% drivetrain loss? If that is the case Tim Murphy's stage 1 car is making about 600hp at the crank on only 6psi........um, no.

Hi

You can believe my dyno chart or not..your choice....

Later this year ..I will be attempting with roughly 800 to 1000 hp....to take the ALL Porsche UK 1/4 record (including beating the new Carrera GT) ...

Now you obviously will not believe that either....

So assuming my engine has not gone nuclear...I will then attempt to beat the VERYON standing quarter record...which stands at 10.00 and 147 mph...

You will obviously not believe that either...but I really dont care...

NITROUS IS A MUCH CHEAPER METHOD OF INCREASING HP AND TORQUE THAN ANY OTHER...BAR NONE....

P.S. Only badly set up Nitrous engines go bang....a little like badly set up Supercharger or Turbo engines....

To answer CF....Yes I have seen Nitrous engines blow while drag racing....but I have seen LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS more supercharged engine trying to put the blower into orbit ...by a factor of around 100 as a guess..........

All the best Brett
