Who sells MAF connectors?
My MAF connector is acting up again.
I got home yesterday and took my '85 S2 for a drive around the block. Immediately I noticed the old symptoms:
1. On initial tip-in, I noted a "flat spot" or weakness.
2. Lots of black smoke,
3. Low idle RPM, stalling at stoplights.
Last night I pulled the MAF out [takes me all of 10 minutes these days, since I've done it so many times! ] and did my usual cleanup routine. I had it all covered up well with black electrical tape a few months ago; now the stuff is peeling off and you can tell it isn't sealing anymore. The wires are intact, but the rubber boot and the rubber seal down inside the connector aren't any good anymore, and despite my use of deoxit and a file, the connections get corroded in the humid air. Even just sitting around in the garage!
I've got it all pulled apart this morning, and I'm going to clean and re-tape the connector, but I've come to the conclusion that this part simply needs to be replaced. It is kind of an odd part though; who sells Bosch connectors like this?
Thanx in advance-
