Have both and can't find them anywhere. Anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure they're not 650 and 691? Electrical Sliding Roof and CD-Player "CD-2" with Radio. Those numbers can be difficult to read if you're looking at the build label in the hatch.

I'm with Mike, it's very easy to mistake the "6" for an "8". I've done it myself.

LMiler, does it has the 2 options Mike mentioned? If so, does it have option 650 and 691 plus option 850 and 891 on the option list? If it does, you got something special. If not, Mike is right.

850 - Genuine Swiss air, considered cleaner than German air. Very rare option, very expensive. Totally lost if the tires on the car are not original.

891 – This is huge, I have not seen this option code on a Porsche in a very, very long time. If I were you this is a keeper to be sold at the Barret-Jackon auction in 10 years for at least $500,000. This option means that after the car was completed, Dr.Porsche himself drove the car off the line.

Ignorance of codes 850 and 891 are inexcusable in the 928 community. Anyone familiar with the 928 knows these codes, and that is why you will be getting alot of wiseass answers here. Having sold a few hundred pristine examples of the marque, as you have, I'm sure you are just pulling our communal leg here. Nice try.

My God Charley, let it go. The codes were sent to me, at my request, from the actual seller in an e-mail. There's no conspiracy going on here.

And yes, I do know every code there is on a 928 via several different websites, of which Charlie Kendall's site doesn't even contain.

For example, this site has proven invaluable to me over the years.

And why would you say "ignorance of codes 850 and 891 are inexcuseable in the 928 community". I didn't know that a 928 owner was required to take some sort of Porsche option code test prior to being able to purchase a 928 in the first place? You make it sound like membership in some sort of evil fraternity is a prerequisite to owning a 928. "Ignorant" and "inexcuseable" are words that are full of hate and anger when used in the fashoin you presented them in. Remember, we're all suppose to be 928 enthusiasts here, regardless of our position with how or why we own them and not enemies.

Your letting your anger and hate towards me cloud your judgement and in turn making you present yourself in a rather ugly light. Yes, I am indeed very knowledgeable in Porsche option codes, but 850 and 891 have eluded me. Do you actually know what they are? If so, why not just tell me instead of calling me ignorant and inexcuseable?

Mike, yes the car does have the CD-2 option, along with a sunroof, so your probably, rather most likely right on. I'm not looking at the option sticker, nor did he send me a picture of it. But apparentely, the 6 instead of an 8 seems to make the most sense here, especially considering it does have those two options. I recall this happening in the not so distant past on another 928 I was purchasing.

The owner did however send them to me in a sequential order, so who really knows? I think I'll have him take a closer look tomorrow. Though that Swiss car/Mr. Porsche thingy would've made a much more interesting story!

Anyway, I appreciate the positive responses, minus one, to my serious option code questions. Thanks everyone who responded!

IIRR none of the option code lists I know of lists codes between

780 Remove safety certificate
900 Tourist delivery

I think I have seen 850 in '90 GT which had 650 code and actual sunroof also. So it can be different code but if there aren't any other codes in sticker between 650 and 891 I'd say they are more likely 650 and 691. If there is third number in this range it will confirm one or both of those to be 8... Codes should always be in correct order.

Todd,
You are subject to concrete thinking and are either on the autism spectrum, have a paranoid personality disorder, or have some sort of frontal lobe dysfunction.
Ever notice that when everyone else gets the joke you seem to miss it?

My god, the classes I took before buying WEREN'T required?? I feel so violated. I certainly hope the evil fraternity thing wasn't a myth, or I am going to be sorely disappointed.

Todd when you get the codes sorted out. If they are wrong code numbers or unknown codes to date let us know. At least we'll find out what the problem is, not hear say for future use of other owners.

But now I definately think I understand. Thank you so much for clearing up my misunderstanding of what was intended as a mere joke in such a sweet, soft and loving manner. If it weren't for the way both you and your friend Charley phrased your responses, most people would have thought you were just being an ***, you ******! Just kiddin! You know I love both of you guys and all of the 928 comrodary we share.

Thanks to what I now know are genuine friends of mine on this 928 forum....................ErnestSw and Charley! It really does make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to be called ignorant, autistic, paranoid, and have frontal lobe damage now that I know it's all just in fun. I love you guys! Really.

Todd - If you continue to come up with responses like this, it will be no fun at all to wind you up. Admit it, your wife or girlfriend wrote that.
