Rear hatch won't engauge
I have spent the last hour looking at all the repair tips from many sites and I have not found this one. On a few occasions I have not been able to get my rear hatch to engauge and lock down. Any ideas?

Check fuse #26?? its a one amp fuse on the board that controls the time the motor spins....when the release is pulled and released the motor should run for a couple seconds....enough to make a complete cycle of the motor...if you have to hold the switch up to make it work then the fuse is blown & the release actuator can get stuck in the "up" postion which won't let the hatch lock.....ask me how I know.....I'm surprised I didn't break the rear window after beating my head against it!!!!!!! :>)

Brian is spot-on.
Until you get a chance to replace that fuse, just pull up on the switch for a second or so to reposition the locking mechanism. It should latch fine.
