93GTS $98,000 !!
#16
I tried very hard to like this car when the original owner had it for sale ~6-7 years ago. I love the exterior and was considering the car but, I just couldn't get past the interior clash with the exterior color. Asking price at the time was $40,000. The OO had the car for sale for approximately 2 years and the current seller bought it.
While I support rising values, if the seller gets anywhere close to this kind of money ($98k), my GTS will be for sale at $150,000!
Here are several other discussions about this car.

Threads here on what someone considers an excessive price have been popular lately. It is a universal question, but more so now. And we want the backstory.
I'd have to say our cars being the age they are, they are definitely on the fringe of "exotic." But even that is subjective, a Ferrari 308 GT can be had for less half this price depending, it is rare, collectible? More desirable to me than the Barrett Jackson muscle cars, but the price is depressed b/c of owner issues and maintenance. And this guy is waaay beyond the top price on ebay or Willhoit.
So he liked it, then fell out of love, but he is situated well enough that he is no hurry.
So I'm wondering how much he is paying for the ad? And why he chose Hemmings over Dupont to list it?

This car has been listed everywhere at one point or another. Hemming's is cheap advertisement and has a much larger circulation.
Beauty in the eye, as they say and a 308 is far from an exotic. By name and lines alone it has recognition and even back when they were new I thought they were awful cars. Uncomfortable and poorly built, my stock 911Sc was faster and at half the price then. You can pick up a nice 512BB for that money and now we are talking exotic.
Who knows maybe someday he might find a buyer, I for one hopes he does.

It's kinda fugly! Great colors individually... but they don't play well together. And the carpet doesn't do it any justice either... not for that kind of money. IIRC the last GTS made was up for sale for not a lot more... and you got extra paint, hides and carpet to boot.
My $0.02
My $0.02

I can't believe I actually took the time to write that about a guy who has a mental illness to think his GTS is actually worth that much!
It's only worth how much someone is actually willing to pay for it!

Well...I think I might be the only one that actually would consider the interior but regarding the price...who knows what's going on...someone said it best before...Perhaps his wife said "sell it" and he figured out how not too. Or...simply his med's are not working
