With the side panels changed to more of what Tony showed, I would absolutely by it. Some appreciate the subtle designs above that look like a factory stock wide body. I personally like the one off look. My favorite kit right now it hte J-Mond ClockWork Orange (With stock headlights). This one is a close second. Price would determine which I would get.

Since both Jacquemond and Gavin are on different continents, it would make more sense for them to send their molds to the USA, and make a deal with 928 Specialists, or Devek, or someone else, to make and sell the kits. It would be a lot cheaper than shipping the kits to the USA.

Hello Gavin.

Gratulations, it looks great. However, I still think the rockers have too sharp lines, rear flares needs to be blended into the body and I'm not sure about the front bumper lights. Overall I'm for it and my OB is still waiting for some modifications. I would buy it.

I believe the gray/green kit is a Strosek, but am not sure on the Metallic red car...it may be a newer style Strosek. It says "DEMEC" on the front licence plate. (ADDED: it might be these guys DEMEC ) I think DEMEC is a tuning company..don't know what their language is. I did find the car on their site and it also listed Strosek, so it may be a Strosek kit with DEMEC tuning. The interesting thing about the red car is the "roundness of the panels as opposed to the gray one. The round brake ducts on the red car along with the rounded rocker panels are VERY contemporary and look similiar to what is happening on heigher end exotics today. The gray appears like an older kit I think and has sharper edges on the rockers and brake duct...still, they both look fab.

Gavin, although your work and ideas are great, I would think the bottom line is sales and what appeals to the masses...as I am sure you may very well know.

A couple more of the red car...

DEMEC websiste looks like it's in Finnish. Anyone?
Nice of them to have mudflaps to keep gravel from peppering the cars behind.
Maybe it's by law like the Japanese to not allow any tire exposed beyond bodywork.

Lots of room in the rear fender flare to place a SUBSTANTIAL intake for a rear turbo install. Open up the rear fender duct and put an intercooler in there too.

Gav,
I agree with Tony and others on the side skirts. But mostly Tony's input on the project. Does it really cost as much as Jacquemond's kits to make a body kit setup? Its fairly price prohibitive at those $$$ figures.
Back in the 90's I dont remember it being even half as much money to get a body kit, it may have been 35-40% of that Jacquemond cost for most cars to get a decent full blown body kit.

Mass-produced kits, like they have for the ricers, are very cheap...

You can get a kit with a hood, four fenders, air dam, wing, rear valence, and side skirts, all for under $1,000.

http://www.globaldiscountwarehouse.c...Kits&SS=198340

The hard part is designing the kit, and making the molds...
If you make good, solid molds, made for manufacturing, you can hire people to sling fiberglass into those molds all day long, and crank out parts...

It's just that you have to make a significant investment into fiberglass cloth in bulk, resin, etc...
As well as space to do it, ventilation, and employees...

It's a big investement, and not that many 928 owners sound like they really want kits.
So unless you make a kit that tons of owners want, it's not worth the cost...

Also, once people really think about doing it, they realize that they have to pay for installation, bigger wheels, bigger tires, and a new paint job.
So the price of the kit, includes a lot of hidden costs, that tend to scare a lot of people away...

I love it! I find the rocker panels unique and intriguing. I don't know yet whether I like the stock headlights or would prefer faired-in lights. I think I like the stock lights with it. The fog and running lights are perfect. When can we get it in the US and how much??

I want to see a pic with the lights in the up position. I prefer the stock lights, even with the more modern looking kits.

Looking at Fat Bully and this car I see that they aren't really all that different. I think the black color softens some of the lines. Looking again I think the only thing that bothers me a lot is the open mouth look that Keith described. If it were closed some it would help with the look.

Thanks, wow what a lot of god constructive crit - when I perfect the kit I guess I will have to give all of you a free sample I appreciate your input - like I said I think i will scrap the entire kit and start again from scratch - I agree the kit on the grey car is one of the best looking that I have seen too.

I would probably have to sell the kit at 2-3000 dollars as it includes lights wing and aluminium uprights. But as I said I dont think I will make any more kits even though I am keeping the moulds incase either of the 2 cars have an accident and need any parts - Thanks again to all of you - when the final kit is finishd it will probably be supplied by Carl Fauset - 928 Motorsports if he is still keen since we last spoke in 2005 about the possibility of him distributing the kits exclusively in the USA
