Chicago vs. Indy 928 challenge - coming soon!
To the Indy guys on the board...
Up for a little challenge?
When the Bears beat the Colts in the Super Bowl, you guys agree to motor up 65 and join the Chicago area Rennlisters for a 928 cokes n' jokes occasion.
If the Colts beat the Bears, our group will motor down I-65 and visit you for such an occasion. There are a few of us Rennlisters here from the Chicagoland area and I'm guessing I could talk them into that deal. It would be fun in either direction quite honestly.
We don't need to work out all the details now. Too cold at the moment. But a weekend get together in the spring could be a load of fun.
So whaddaya say?
Bears, brats, Dikka, Dikka, Dikka...
Peace.

You better be glad that Detroit isn't in the super bowl; you'd have a caravan of cars that rivals SITM enroute to Chicago if the hypothetical match wound up with a Bears win. I think Detroit is second only to Southern California for the vehemence and size of the local 928 population!

N!
Well they can come along if they'd like. Detroit isn't too much farther from Chicago than Indianapolis. I'm surprised that there is a healthy contingent there, that being Motor City. So too, I'm surprised how small the Chicago contingent is. I think there may be just half a dozen of us.
Nevertheless, we'll be happy to host. Maybe we can talk Erik and the Wisconsin group into joining us.
Given that I spend most weeks in Chicago I guess I qualify
But I don't know about the Bears, we Packer fans struggle to feel good about that sort of thing.

It's all starting to come together in my head. The Indy guys will come up, the Cheeseheads will come down, and we'll all have a grand ol' time recapping the Bears 30-24 victory. The more, the merrier.
I'm in... as long as we can meet up on a weekend. My schedule doesn't allow for much weekday downtime, especially not the three hours it takes to make the commute to Chicago. Not that I need to worry about the commute since you guys will be driving
I dont think any of us could ask for more, two midwest teams going to the show.

It will be a weekend for sure. I'm thinking a Saturday overnight.
And I think there are stretches of I-65 that are 75 mph now - no? Seems like most folks are going that anyhow. 65 is boring, but I've had pretty good luck with it on my treks to see the folks in Cincinnati. Very few smokies.

Now then, on I-74 I've been nailed.
In Indiana, those speed limit signs are just friendly suggestions...
I've been clocked multiple times north of 80 and never been pulled over (knock on wood). Usually very safe up till 10 over, after that gets a little dicey.
For 5 years I used to commute on the interstate and found stretches where I could exceed 100 daily without incident. It helps if you know were da bears hangout (ha ha).
Now I'm only referring to interstates because most small towns have local yokels that will nail you at 3 over. Cruising on state roads highways through small one light or no light towns is the easiest way to pick up a souvenir.

I received confirmation that Dave M is in for the trip, in the unlikely event that the Colts beat the bears. So far we have one silver and one gold shark. More to come...

Okay,
Dave M. and I are in to travel to Indianapolis in case of a Colts victory. Hans is in from Indy. Surely there are a couple other IN folks who can join us...?
It's getting close to kickoff, so let's finalize the rosters here. Again, we're talking about a spring time, Saturday event. As far as I'm concerned, it's win-win!
