Default Wheel height?

I've read through several threads and seem to get 2 answers for correct wheel height.

Is it 24.5" or 25". I just ordered the new rims finally and need to get correct tires. Tire rack shows stock tire set up at 24.5". Just want the speedo close.

17x7.5 and 17x9 thinking 235 up front and 275 in back. 55mm offset all around. Thinking a 12mm spacer should set the fronts up well. Back will have tons of room to the lip, so will have to measure for correct spacer. Right now my phone dials have almost 2" to the fender lip.

Seems like 275/40r17 in rear will be close and 235/45r17 in front should be close.

Thanks!

Forget the imprecision of fender heights ( wheel heights?), and set up on the known chassis measurement points .... all in the WSM's or in the archives. 170-190 mm is the std. range: many go lower for looks or dedicated track - I've had good balance at 165mm all round for back road use,

You will decrease straight line stability and the ability of the front to self-center coming out of a turn if 12mm spacers are added to an ET55 wheel - which reduces the effective ET to 43mm. The min. factory front ET was 60mm, and many run as low as 50.

If you'd like to calculate wheel sizes, here is a great website:

I run 275/40 r17 in the rear, and my speedo is almost perfect, it over reads by about 2 mph at 100, in comparison to GPS, so i'm happy!
I only have 225/45 at the front at the moment, and have had the ABS light on once, which I think was to do with the difference in sizes between front and back. I'll go with 235/45 as soon as they need changing.

Space wise, I have no spacers on the rear, and have about 1mm gap between the lip and the tyre. I'll have to see what offset they are next time I have the wheels off. They are cup replicas.

Thanks, I was thinking backwards for some reason last night. To get to 65mm offset I would need the very rare -10mm spacer. Only seen one once and it was on a star treck episode involving an antimatter explosion of sorts.

Sounds like 275/40r17 and 235/45r17 should be okay.
