Hey, we found our "long lost son"!!! Where have you been hiding, Richard?
We've been wondering, and talking about the fact that we haven't heard from you in months. Hope things are well on your end!!!

Hi Nicole,
Gruesse aus Deutschland.. I have been very busy with work, and have been travelling extensively the past year... I am actually in Germany at the moment... I would like to go on a fun drive when I am in CA, but it seems that timing is an issue...
As for the SC project, I have not been able to do much, as i have been gone... In addition, I was mentioning to Dave, that my shark must hate me as I have been using my Range Rover much more lately than the 928..
On another note, I have been getting my share of 250+/KmH driving in Germany
Good to hear from you..! How have you been?
Marton,
I was created by immaculate conception...! LOL..!

Sadly my 928 is still in the middle of TB & WP repair so I had to go in the Mustang which has snow tires; these are limited to 100 mph (Q rated). So cruised at 90/95mph, door to door was 150 miles and it took me exactly 2 hours - you can only do this on a Sunday; every other day it takes 2 hours just to navigate Stuttgart.
BTW, I heard it snowed like crazy in South Germany yesterday....

Hi Marton,
I can relate to your situation, as one of my friends has these snow tires on his car... I have the all-season on the E-Class, and it is still good to go fast.. However, as you noticed, it snowed in the south 15-20 cms, and it is expected to snow the rest of this week... I'm keeping a very close eye on the weather, as I am near Mannheim, and will drive to Hamburg on Friday, and fly back to CA on Sunday... If it starts to snow between Frankfurt and Hamburg, my 4 hr drive will become 7-8 hours....
Hope your shark is out of surgery soon.. By the way, at night there is a spot on the A7 between Frankfurt and Kassel that is unrestricted, 3 lanes wide and really nice for the 928...
On the Stuttgart thing, I know about this mess... I was also there last week Tuesday... yuck... and the construction..!
Anyway, cheers,

Hi Richard,
I used to have all seasons on the Mustang but after the 3rd time I spun off in snow I switched to snow tires.
I also have snow tires on the 928 but they are good for 200 kph (125 mph). Ordered the 928 parts from 928intl last Friday so hopefully they will be here by the weekend or soon after (by US Post) so I
can finish the surgery. I was hoping to complete by the end of January but now that is looking optimistic...
Hamburg? That is a long way North...
It also started snowing here yesterday; you can hear the cheering in the mountains. Up to yesterday around 70 out of the 200 Swiss ski runs were not yet opened due to lack of snow; they used snow cannons but in many places the ground was too warm so it soon melted.
also cheers
