Think about this...if you want a nice 928 for dirt cheap, GO to Barret -Jackson and buy! You will be getting a vehicle that passes their 5000 ( ) point inspection and worthy of being part of their prestigious auction. I have seen a few high quality 928's over the past years, go for less than true value. As long as dumb asses keep selling 928's there, deals WILL be had!

The frenzy going on over American muscle cars these days is way out of hand. There will be a ton of people who will never get back what they've put into some of these examples - particularly the clones and the non-matching numbered cars.
Who'd have thought that a rattle bucket Plum Crazy Mopar would ever be worth anything? Who'd have thought that a '70 Hemi 'Cuda convertible would sell for $4 million?
I wish that I'd bought my brother's AAR 'Cuda when he sold it for $750.
Until I got my GT, I thought that I'd never hear a better sounding car than that 340 six pack.

I watched about an hour of BJ from lot 400 or so hoping to see a recap of the 928, and other than a few rich mans toys that rich men bid up without much concern to the price, most of the cars seemed to sell at very fair amounts, typically LESS than the cost of finding a car and having it brought up to that sort of condition.
Knowing just what we know about that PLUM, is there anybody here that would pay $15k for it right now? It sold at a fair price as far as I am concerned, and a fair amount more than it would take to tempt me to buy it (since it isn't close to what I actually want).

This entire thread and aution results still confirms we tend to own one of the most understated supercars out there. Still, finding a GOOD 928 can still be a challenge. I saw an '85 at a used car place a few months back and actually spoke with a father and son thinging of buying it (for $6k!). I told them to skip it. I was there buying a $1200 '92 MX6 with a friend.
The interior was wrecked, the driver's door had a decent dent in it, who knows how the motor was treated. The owner of the lot had an S4 in so-so to decent condition... but when compared to mine, it looked awful. I have the father/son team a little advice while the salesman was away, gave them an idea of what they may have gotten into. It was a sad state for the supercar of the age... Tread carefully! At the rate I'm going, I'll never sell mine. It will just continue to evolve as Rennlist suggests more good ideas, and by checkbook doesn't get too empty.
