Cool 928 Holidays & Adventures

Tomorrow I'm flying to The Canaries off the west coast of Africa for a short holiday, starting with a weekend changing a 928 buddy's cam belt and water pump. He has no tools, and we're not really sure if his sister's garage is wide enough for the car to fit. I'm taking everything I can in a suitcase, including all the parts.

Assuming I finish the cam belt job on Sunday, I'll be flying to another island to stay in my buddy's holiday apartment and my gf will join me a couple of days later.

I was originally just going to do a belt and sprocket inspection, tension check and tensioner oil refill, but my buddy explained that he can't find any reference of the belt ever being changed on his 91 GT with 110,000km, so the whole thing has morphed out of control...

Fortunately I only just did my belt a couple of weeks ago, so everything is fairly fresh in my mind, and I'm hoping that since his car is very low mileage it shouldn't be to filthy, or suffering from PO fixes, but who knows what we'll find.

Wish me luck, I think I'm going to need it!

Paul -

At least you won't be working on the car in cold weather.

Good luck.

Paul,

Good luck.

You're a gambler, that's for sure. I hope you don't have a problem getting all the parts and tools on and off the plane. If any of them look suspicious to the security people you may have some 'splainin' to do.
