RUN....RUN....RUN...DON'T LOOK BACK!!

Seriously - you can find a decent RUNNING car for MUCH MUCH MUCH less then you'd have in this one to get it in running condition.

That figures. He's only about 30 minutes from me. It would be nice to have a real source like this so close to me but I'll heed the many warnings and do like the Python guys and "run away, run away."

There an '86 on Autotrader for $800 that might fit the bill. No affiliation.

I talk to a LOT of guys who are looking for engine swap cars, both the 951 due to the stronger tranny, and the 928, and you very very rarely find a bad motor in a good car. The motors are NOT the weak link, its poor owner maintenance or abuse that makes a Porsche motor go south except for huge mileage cars. What most of the guys end up doing is paying a bit more for a good running car, and selling the parts they don't use, for a lower net cost than the so called cheap cars. Also like others have said, when the motor doesn't run, you have NO IDEA what else is wrong.

The other side of the coin is that if you have 928 with a blown motor, and you can spend a bit of time looking, used motors can sell very cheaply, and its around 10 hours labor to swap same for same.

Any 928 that you buy will give ample opportunity to doing mechanical work. Trust me.

Oh, my bad... what I meant to say is I'd look for other cars.
I don't know GAD/Joe Cogbill but I know Scott, take his advice.

Hey Mark, not to change the subject, but are you going to the 24 Hours at Daytona at the end of the month? How about our Sebring Shark Shiver Feb.9-11th?? Gonna be at least five 928 racers at Sebring this year, including David Lloyd, John Veninger and Mark Anderson. It would be nice to see you at one of our Florida Shark gatherings, hint hint???

I want a manual transmission!! I have driven the automatic and 5 speed version and the automatic makes the car seem so dead in comparison with the auto.

I have an 86 5spd I'll be selling in a couple weeks, just finished tb/wp and will be going thru the car to make sure everything works well... blk/burgundy interior needs work for sure but I should have some decent interior parts available from my 85 project car if wanted for good price
I'll be asking $6k
