I went back to the Bosch TSZ unit, it turned out mine wasn't bad...just the diagnosis. Happy to see one is working in a 928 and yes at the time I did the coil upgrade but back to original. I do know that if you go the MSD route you have to get a pick-up for the tach and some other tidbits...Jim at 928 Inter. was a big help checking mine and he does have them rebuilt for sale I believe.

That is the unit that is connected to the distributor with the infamous green cable?
Did you change that; does it look a bit toasted?

I didn't change it, my mechanic did...but as I said, I'm back to stock.

Interesting, I was advised to use the tach signal converter- but my stock VDO guages wouldn't read the converted signal. Took it back out and everything was fine.
