This is happening to my 93 gts. It is not the coupling thats slipping. I lubed the sunroof track and gears only because i didnt know what else to do to fix the problem and ironically the motor now stops as it should. lucky i guess? I will suscribe to the thread hoping that someone who knows the exact reasoning for this will chime in. Maybe its the switch itself???

The module has over current sensor built in. Maybe that part of the controller is not working? I would think they also have a timer as a backup, hence the delay before turning off. Alan would be better versed about this.

This is how my controller works. If the over current sensor fails there is a timer backup.

Excellent news, I got an email from you last oct telling me you would let me know when it goes into production...
I hadn't heard anything so I thought the project was stalled or aborted. So I'm glad to hear it's still in the works!
One question. Is it possible to access the rear wiper circuit to wire it to something else instead? Using the original switches I was planning to delete the wiper and use the wiper switch to mute my radar detector...

Hmm I will look into the emails. I am trying to keep a list of all that are interested for the second run.

Send me a pm of your email address and I will make sure you get on the list.

A lot has happened in my life in the last 12 months and hopefully the worst is over now, and I can get on with it.

Just for fun as my batt. was back in the car for other reasons I opened and closed my sunroof. Being an '88 it stops either direction if I lift my finger from the button but as in the express optioned cars do will continue to run once fully opened/closed if the switch is not released..........no fail safe.

Not totally accurate: When I momentarily push my switch long enough to activate express mode, and then take my finger away, there is that moment that the motor continues to run when the roof has stopped. It stops by itself after a moment. You can also stop it by anticipating this, and giving a quick blip to the switch when the roof has slid back.

I'm wondering if there is some sort of limit swith that gets a little tweaked over time, and then the system either times out or senses the amp load on the motor when the roof isn't sliding and then shuts itself down?

Sorry, guess I didn't understand your statement, you cited "express-optioned cars".
