Hi All!
So I'm deep into my intake reseal/replace fuel hoses/assorted WYIT's and I spotted this "thing", passenger side rear/top of engine. It looks like a sensor of some sort, except it has no electrical connectors, but what appear to be 2 vacuum ports, one of which was connected to somewhere (I'll figure that out when it all goes back together
). Because of its location (next to the heater valve), I suspect its HVAC related. As with many things, I seem unable to find it on PET either. So what is it called and what does it do? Should I replace it (as part of the WYIT)?

Its in the center of the pic with a red ring around a vacuum port.

From your description, I'd say it was the thermo-valve that controls the larger vapor recovery valve for the carbon cannister.

It is a temperature activated vacuum valve, that opens up when the engine reaches a certain temp. It then forwards it vacuum signal to the valve coming off the charcoal canister. Which then opens up to allow the fumes from the charcoal canister to enter your intake.
I deleted mine, along with all the other smog related equipment.

Oops, I should have just clicked on the link, huh? ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I also removed the never-gonna-be-used factory TDC sensor - the capped wire in the middle.

Thanks guys!
You had me going! The link worked for me, but that was my first attempt trying to use my Rennlist space and I had trouble. I know nothing about websites or HTML. Glad it did work though.
Thanks! Wondered about that one. I guess I'll delete as well.
